Fall Ball

Hello Plattsburgh Softball Fans,

As our fall ball practices are coming to an end I thought I’d catch you up on what’s been going on. Our coaching staff is very excited about the group of young women we have this year. Loaded with great talents and strong work ethics we are feeling confident in having another successful season. From what we have seen so far our returning players have come back egger and hungry for even more success than they achieved last year. Our incoming freshmen have joined our returners in this mind set and are working hard for some success of their own.

In the first 3 weeks of practices our athletes were really getting to know each other as well as preparing for our annual fall game. With a mix of intense practices and team bonding experiences in this short time period we were feeling confident in the progress our athletes had made already. On September 22 UMass at Lowell’s softball team, a division 2 school, made their way down to Cardinal Park for a day of games. It was a great experience for our team. Clearly showing our many strengths and the few issues we need to work on. Overall on the day we came out on top winning 2 of the 3 shortened games.

Although our time this fall is almost over, the action so far has left us excited for the spring season to begin. While our athletes are working hard in the off season the coaching staff will also be working hard to learn the latest and greatest softball tips from some of the top softball coaches out there.

We thank you for your time and your support of our team and we hope to see many of you at Cardinal Park for our spring season. Until then we will be updating this blog weekly. Please continue to follow us here for the latest news with Cardinal Softball!
